The Pound remains strong across the board as the Bank of England increased its economic growth forecasts for the rest of the year and suggested that inflation needs to increase before changing its current monetary policy stance.
The Euro remains under pressure as Europe is lagging behind both the UK and US on the vaccine front. The European Medicines Agency has concluded that the AstraZeneca vaccine is safe for use which has prompted EU members to reverse its ban.
The Dollar has remained weak with US Treasury bond yields decreasing slightly. However, the Dollar remains susceptible to strengthening again if these yields increase. In addition, its safe-haven status could be a factor going forward if US-China relations worsen with both sides criticising each other’s human rights records.
